Jungle Cruise, formally named Jungle River Cruise, is a riverboat amusement ride located in the Adventureland themed section at various Disney theme parks worldwide. The attraction is a simulated riverboat cruise that travels along a waterway using a concealed guidance system through areas with Asian, African, and South American themes. Park guests board replica steam launches from a 1930s British explorers' lodge, and Audio-Animatronic exotic animals are displayed throughout the ride. A live Disney cast member acts as a tour guide and boat skipper that loosely follows a rehearsed script, providing passengers with a comedic narrative.

Probably the best time to get in line for Jungle Cruise is first thing in the morning. This ride isn’t included in Early Theme Park Entry for resort guests, so even if you’re staying off-site, you’ll have an equal chance to get in line first thing in the morning.
As you wait in line to enter the line, it’ll feel like you’re in a colonial outpost. You’ll pass artifacts, photos, and tools from the theme and period of the ride to get you in the right headspace. But don’t worry, both queues are fully accessible and Jungle Cruise Skippers will meet you at the front of the queue entrance to assist you on your watery safari.
There are periods of darkness, and it’s possible to get damp from the mist near the waterfalls. Guests in wheelchairs can choose to board the boat without their chair if able, leaving the chair at the dock. In this new area, you’ll find African Elephants along with many other animals. You’ll pass a zebra watching a lion eat a member of its pack, and a group of lost safari goers hanging from a long pole, avoiding a black Rhino. There are 15 boats in rotation, each with its memorable name (like Wamba Wanda).

Various rustic Christmas trees dot the queue, and you may see an ethanol dispenser that reads ETHANOL altered to say ETHANOEL EGGNOG. Disney fans may remember in February 2020, a Jungle Cruise boat sank at Magic Kingdom leaving guests with some wet sneakers and a lot of laughs. No one was hurt, and the boat was rapidly repaired and returned to the convoy. There was another boat of lesser memory in 2004, the Sankuru Sadie, that also sank at Magic Kingdom.
You can spot more than 30 different animal species during the 18-minute open-air drive across 110 acres of savanna — nearly as much space as all of Magic Kingdom park. To the contrary, our view is that Jungle Cruise is way too taste-specific and skipper-dependent. It has a cult following among longtime fans and has achieved iconic status via longevity, but doesn’t have as much mainstream appeal.

Christmas is another fun time to ride Jungle Cruise– or “Jingle Cruise”, as it’s called– as it gets a makeover for the season and a snowman attraction is added. However, some young or sensitive children could be startled in the dark temple with snakes present, or by the gunshot sound effect. The boat will bob some, and sea sickness is possible, but it is generally a pretty smooth ride. All guests should take care as they step down onto the boat from the dock, as it can bob and lean slightly while boarding.
